Hi everyone! My name is Akilah and I am so excited and grateful to take part in this program as a mentor. I think it’s very important for our young girls to have young women to look up to as well as lean on in such an important time of their lives. I love to be on the go and doing things all while balancing my work and school life. I can’t wait to meet everybody and help you all grow into amazing young women knowing you’ll always have someone in your corner!

Hi, I’m Tamia! I studied Information Science at the University of Maryland, College Park and I love getting lost in a good book whenever I have the chance. I wanted to become a mentor because growing up, I would have loved having someone I could turn to for advice, encouragement, or even just to remind me that I was capable of more than I realized. Being able to be that person for someone else is really important to me.
